National Signage project supporting better waste practices
Phase 2 of the national Talanoa Veve program has seen the creation of educational signage in key public locations around the Kingdom to encourage better waste management practices. The Waste Authority continue to run fortnightly programs discussing various aspects and topics of interest relating to waste management within the islands. The response from the community has been excellent with some internal changes in operation to improve efficiency and compliance in legislation for waste management. Community programs will continue with plans to participate in E-Waste Awareness Day in July and Clean Up The World in August.
Talanoa Veve supported by community partners
Talanoa Veve, an initiative by the Waste Authority, has been supported by key community partners including Tourism Tonga, Chathams Pacific, PTH, Office Equipment and TCC. These sponsors strongly believe in the importance of good waste management practices and support a green, clean Tonga.
They are proud to promote the program to the wider community and region sharing with the community the efforts Tonga is making to protect its unique environment.
